Artificial intelligence (AI) company PERSONA AI (CEO Yoo Seung-jae) announced on the 7th that it has attracted investment from Naver Cloud (CEO Kim Yoo-won). The amount of the investment is undisclosed.

PERSONA AI AI is a company that developed Korea's first subscription-based artificial intelligence contact center (AICC) in 2021. AICC is the application of AI technology such as chat bots, call bots, and address bots to customer contact points such as call centers. It can be applied to all companies that provide customer service regardless of industry or size, so it has great growth potential. According to Allied Market Research, a market research company, the size of Korea's AICC market is expected to be $350 million (about 465 billion won) in 2030.

PERSONA AI, which entered the AICC market early, has secured a number of references in the financial sector and advanced its original technology. The key technologies are natural language generation (NLG) technology, which automatically generates more than 100,000 AI training data in a short period of time, and natural language processing (NLP) technology, which has achieved a 100% Korean recognition rate. Currently, the cumulative investment amount disclosed alone amounts to about 20 billion won.

It is known that NAVER Cloud also decided to invest in PERSONA AI, which has achieved significant results in the AICC market based on its original technology, highly evaluating its potential and growth potential. NAVER Cloud, which unveiled its super-giant AI 'HyperClova X' last year, is building AI leadership by applying AI to core services such as search and advertising, while collaborating with various industries. It is expected to cooperate with PERSONA AI to strengthen its AI capabilities and spur the expansion of the domestic AI ecosystem.

With this investment, PERSONA AI will enhance its AICC expertise and strengthen its market dominance. In addition to the financial sector, the AICC business is planned to be actively developed for various industries that want to digitally transform customer service, such as shopping, medical care, and rental.

Previously, PERSONA AI attracted investment from Hyosung Ventures and SK Telecom in June and August last year. The company also signed an MOU with Microsoft for AI services and business development using Azure OpenAI Service.

Yoo Seung-jae, CEO of PERSONA AI, said, "This investment by NAVER Cloud is significant in that it is the result of once again recognizing the performance and potential of PERSONA AI's AICC business" and added, "We will lead the development of the AICC market and create AI services that anyone can conveniently access and use."

Meanwhile, at the 'GenAI Solution Competition 2023' held in the United States in 2023, PERSONA AI won the 'Tech Award', the final first place, beating the solutions of more than 100 global AI companies such as the United States and Singapore.
