The 2023 NIPA Partners Day was designed to think together about the future of Korea's ICT industry in 2024 and find the key to cooperation and innovation amidst the uncertain global economic situation. The event was attended by about 500 people, including domestic venture capitalists (VCs) and ICT entrepreneurs, and included sharing of ICT investment strategies by major domestic VCs, awards to 10 excellent companies participating in NIPA support projects, and announcement of NIPA business directions for 2024.


On this day, NIPA selected 10 companies that achieved excellent results in increasing sales, overseas exports, and creating innovative technologies and services through two-year support projects last year and this year as '2023 NIPA Nice Partners' and awarded them a commendation from the National IT Industry Promotion Agency. .

NIPA's major business directions for next year were also announced. NIPA Director Kim Tae-yeol, who was in charge of presenting ‘NIPA 2023 Major Achievements and 2024 Business Directions’, said, “NIPA will maintain this year’s business tone and pursue ‘routine AI in people’s lives and industrial sites’ and ‘new technologies through ICT/software (SW) convergence.’ “We plan to support domestic companies by setting ‘creating new added value’, ‘regional and global expansion of K-ICT’, and ‘continuing strengthening collaboration and communication between private and professional organizations’ as business directions for next year.”


Specifically, NIPA has made the promotion of AI utilization a core axis of this year's business, attracting investment in AI semiconductors worth KRW 142 billion, expanding the pool of AI voucher supplier companies, and discovering excellent AI convergence cases. In addition, to strengthen the AI industry ecosystem, we supported AI semiconductor research and development (R&D), demonstrated the construction of a 20 petaflops (PF) ultra-low-power, high-performance data center, and supported the distribution and expansion of cloud and SaaS (software as a service) for small and medium-sized businesses. In addition, NIPA is steadily investing in the digital health and metaverse fields.


Based on this tone, NIPA plans to promote ultra-large AI flagship projects and support for ultra-large AI-based cloud service development capabilities in 2024. In addition, we plan to carry out projects such as AI-based psychological care and care, development and verification of health care services, and digital medical device verification to improve public convenience. In addition, NIPA will promote the ‘XaaS (Everything as a Service) Leading Project’ next year to expand digital services and SW so that various industries can utilize SaaS.
